Making a brochure in Canva? Choose the printed format before you finish the design. A short company brochure or event programme may suit a stapled booklet. A longer catalogue, annual report or manual may suit perfect binding.

Set up the pages

Check the product page for its finished size, page-count choices and cover details. In Canva, make one page for each printed page, including the cover, and keep them in reading order. Do not make printer spreads unless the product instructions ask for them.

Keep important text and logos away from the trim edge. Use the product template where one is provided, especially if the cover includes a spine. Follow that product’s bleed and crop-mark instructions rather than assuming the same settings apply to every booklet.

Download and check your PDF

Download the complete design as PDF Print. Open the file and check that every page is present, in order and at the intended size. Look closely at small text, page numbers, images and the cover before sending it.
