Give people a section to keep or hand back

A perforation lets someone tear part of the sheet away without scissors. Use it for an admission pass, a discount voucher, a reply slip or a form with a section to retain. Each sheet has one tear-off line across it and is supplied flat.

Centre or one-third tear-off?

• Centre: divides the sheet into two equal sections. Useful when both parts need a similar amount of space.
• One-third: leaves a smaller tear-off section and a larger area for the main message. The template shows the line and which end to use.

The perforation crosses the shorter width of the sheet. On A4 it sits 148.5mm from either short edge for a centre tear-off, or 99mm from the nearest short edge for a one-third tear-off. On A5 and DL the corresponding distances are 105mm and 70mm. Turning the design does not change the physical tear-off position.

Choose the sheet size

• A4, 210 × 297mm: room for a longer form or more information alongside the detachable section.
• A5, 148 × 210mm: a smaller sheet for vouchers, tickets and reply slips.
• DL, 99 × 210mm: a narrow format for a short message with a tear-off section.

Paper or card

The recommended starting point is 170gsm silk. Silk has a smooth surface with less shine than gloss. Choose 150, 170, 250 or 350gsm silk; 120, 170, 250 or 350gsm uncoated; or 130gsm gloss. The heavier options feel more like card. Uncoated paper is the practical starting point when someone needs to write on the sheet, although the intended pen or printer should be checked if that matters to the job.

The online range is unlaminated, printed on one or both sides. Every sheet in the pack repeats one design. Choose 100, 200, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 7,500 or 10,000 complete sheets. Numbering, different versions, extra perforations, lamination and special finishes need a separately checked quote. We do not assume an unavailable quantity can be priced by scaling another run.

Prepare the artwork

Download the matching size and tear-off template beside the options. Supply one CMYK PDF page for single-sided printing or two pages, front first, for double-sided printing. Add 3mm bleed, embed fonts and use 300dpi images. Keep important text at least 3mm inside the trim and clear of the perforation. Remove every template guide and instruction before export.

For DL centre perforation, we provide our own clearly labelled PDF and editable SVG guide with the tear-off line exactly 105mm from either short edge. It is an Aspect Printing guide, not a supplier original. Our team checks the front and back, tear-off placement and intended use before print. A screen preview cannot approve the physical perforation.

Price, VAT and delivery

Choose the intended use before ordering. Online prices include 20% VAT for tickets, vouchers and forms. For information-only leaflets or another use, ask us for a quote so we can check the VAT treatment first.

Prices include the selected printing, one perforation and standard delivery to one UK mainland address. Design work, numbering, other finishing and special delivery services are not included. Production is either one working day or three to four working days after artwork approval, followed by courier transit. Check a fixed event date or another destination with us before ordering.
