How outdoor banners help people find your event

Using outdoor banners at events

Outdoor banners give visitors clear directions and keep event messages visible without relying on a screen. They work well at entrances, along barriers and beside busy routes when the size, fixing method and artwork suit the location.

Choose the location first

Decide where the banner will hang before choosing its size. Check the available fixing points, likely viewing distance and whether wind can pass around the banner. Use suitable fixings and follow the venue’s safety requirements.

Keep the message easy to read

Use a short headline, strong contrast and a clear typeface. Important details should be large enough to read at the expected distance. Logos and contact details can support the message, but they should not compete with it.

Select the right material

PVC banner material is a common choice for temporary outdoor use. PVC-free and mesh options may be available for particular sizes and locations. Mesh can reduce wind loading in exposed positions, although the printed image appears less solid than it does on standard banner material.

Plan for reuse

A date-free design can be used at several events. Store the banner clean, dry and loosely rolled to help prevent creases and damage between uses.

Send us the details

Tell us the finished size, location, expected length of use and available fixing points. We can then confirm a suitable material, finishing method and artwork setup.
