Print for a display that lights from behind

A backlit poster lets light pass through the printed image. Use it in a suitable lightbox for retail promotions, exhibition graphics or illuminated advertising displays. This is a loose printed sheet, not a digital screen or a complete illuminated sign.

We print on 205-micron Coala Backlit Film with a matt surface. It is a different material from ordinary paper and from the flexible PVC used for our standard PVC posters. Check that your display accepts this film thickness and that the finished dimensions fit its insert area.

Choose a size that fits your lightbox

Choose A3 (297 × 420mm), A2 (420 × 594mm), A1 (594 × 841mm), A0 (841 × 1189mm), 30 × 20 inches (762 × 508mm), 40 × 30 inches (1016 × 762mm) or 60 × 40 inches (1524 × 1016mm). Portrait or landscape artwork is welcome when the two finished dimensions match.

Measure the insert, not just the outside of the frame. Inch-based sizes are not interchangeable with the nearest A-size. For a custom size, a mixed set of designs or a specialist lighting setup, ask us for a quote.

What your price includes

Order 1–250 identical posters per basket line, with single-sided colour printing. Choose your size and quantity to see the available one- or four-working-day production service and the total price for the run. Prices show 20% VAT separately. Staff artwork checking and standard delivery to one UK mainland address are included.

Frames, lightboxes, lights, stands, fixings, installation and design work are not included. Product photographs show examples of the printed film in use, not a package of display hardware. An outdoor display must protect and secure the poster appropriately; ask us to check the intended use if you are unsure.

Prepare your artwork

Supply one print-ready CMYK PDF page at your selected finished size, with 3mm bleed on every edge. Keep text and logos at least 3mm inside the cut line and embed or outline fonts. Check images at full size; the supplier specifies 300dpi for raster artwork.

Use the selected-size PDF template beside the options and remove its guide artwork before exporting. Some guides open in portrait; match the two finished dimensions to your order. Upload your file after checkout. Staff check the size, material and print setup before production.

Backlighting and the display’s lighting strength affect how colours appear. Our print colour checker can help you compare screen artwork with an illustrative print preview, but it does not simulate your lightbox or replace a physical proof. If colour under illumination is critical, talk to us before ordering.

Production and delivery

The selected service is production time, not a guaranteed arrival date. Allow for artwork approval and courier delivery as well. Our artwork cutoff is 4pm; approved files received later, at weekends or on closed days move to the next working day. Large sizes may travel with an oversized courier service.
